A message to our Premier ProduceOne family:
The last few weeks have caused our industry much stress and confusion, but we wanted to take a moment to address any concerns. We want to assure you that we are doing everything we can to prevent any disruption in our service and care for our customers. At Premier ProduceOne, the health and safety of our customers and employees are our top priorities. We have been monitoring the COVID-19 outbreak very closely and as information becomes available from the CDC and other industry experts, we are actively following all guidelines. We have been adjusting the way we operate and servicing customers based on information as we receive it.
Over the last few weeks we’ve seen universities, K-12 and Business & Industry customers temporarily shut their doors in order to do their part to flatten the curve. On March 15th Governor DeWine announced that all bars and restaurants were to close their doors to dine-in customers and only offer carryout and delivery services due to the COVID-19 outbreak. Premier ProduceOne proudly services many customers that fall into these categories and we have found ourselves in uncharted waters.
With the rapid decline of demand, we had excessive amounts of produce in our coolers that would normally be shipping out to loyal customers such as yourselves. Instead of throwing it away or attempting to sell it to the public we felt it was our duty to help our friends who are also hurting, you, the restaurant industry. Last Friday and Saturday we gave away produce, free of charge, to our customers to help them out or allow them to give to their employees. Some of our competitors have taken this as an opportunity to say that we are closing our doors which could NOT be further from the truth. It’s unfortunate that in a time when community, support and giving back is so critical that others would attempt to exploit this in order to gain business. We have used the hashtag #inthistogether and those are words we will continue to stand by.
With that being said, we want to make you aware of temporary adjustments we have made:
Thank you,
Premier ProduceOne
